Our veterans have made great sacrifices for our freedom and safety. As a result, many return home with deep wounds of trauma that are not always obvious to those who love them. In honor of Memorial Day, Dr. Glenda Wrenn, Director of the Kennedy Satcher Center for Mental Health Equity, and Kay explore ways we can support veterans and fight for the best mental health care and treatment for the trauma they experienced. As a veteran and woman of color, Dr. Wrenn knows firsthand the mental health challenges our veterans face, especially the veterans of color who have difficulty in finding culturally sensitive care models. The faith community can play a key role in helping our treasured vets in their transition home.
