When life is difficult and we find ourselves struggling, it often feels like there are only two choices: power through and ignore the pain or just collapse and stop functioning. Dr. Dan Allender and Rachael Clinton Chen gently lead us to another way of living. They share how we can honor our pain and struggle while also remaining present to God, ourselves, those we love, and the world around us.

Dr. Allender co-founded the The Allender Center – a pioneering organization committed to boldly engaging the impact of trauma and abuse on the human heart. Together he and Rachael, who serves as the Director of Teaching and Care at The Allender Center, host The Allender Center Podcast – a podcast that features engaging topics on healing and restoration through the unique intersection of theology and psychology. Dr. Allender has written numerous books including, Healing the Wounded Heart: The Heartache of Sexual Abuse and the Hope of Transformation and To Be Told: God Invites You to Coauthor Your Future.
