Season 2 of Netflix’s original series, 13 Reasons Why, was released on May 18th. Season 1 portrayed sexual assault and suicide in a very graphic way. For this reason, it is critical for parents, youth leaders, teachers, and anyone who loves students to be aware and ready for a conversation about mental health and suicide. Suicide needs to be a topic we talk about openly but with great wisdom. Please watch this Facebook Live for a conversation on how to talk to your student about mental health and suicide. Kay is joined by two professionals who are passionate about teen suicide prevention – Clayton Chau (MD, PhD), Regional Executive Medical Director at Providence St. Joseph Health and Cheryl Eskin (MA, MFT), Program Director at Teen Line.
