Kay Warren, Scott Hamilton to Help Launch Mother & Child Project
Kay Warren and Scott Hamilton will be launching book "Mother and Child Project: Raising Our Voices for Health and Hope" this week.
Warren and Hamilton are contributors to the book, which compiles the perspectives of over 45 prominent individuals on access to treatment and medical services for people at risk from treatable diseases.
Other contributors to the book include multi-millionaires and philanthropists Bill and Melinda Gates, Senator Bill Frist, actress Kimberly Williams Paisley, and award-winning songwriter Michael W Smith.
The book launch takes place in New York City on March 25 and will be attended by Christian artists Amy Grant and Natalie Grant among others.
The event will begin with an exclusive reception at the 21 Club in New York City, where there will also be a panel discussion facilitated by Hamilton, followed by a book signing session.
Kay Warren is the co-founder of the Saddleback Church with her husband Rick Warren, and has worked for 10 years as an advocate for people suffering from HIV and AIDS. Kay is also active in community work for orphaned children.
Scott Hamilton is a retired figure ice skater, and a survivor of testicular cancer. Hamilton is active in promoting cancer awareness and has also authored two successful motivational books.
The contributions in the book were compiled through Hope Through Healing Hands' The Faith-Based Coalition for Healthy Mothers and Children Worldwide campaign. The campaign aims to inspire action from American faith leaders to address the issues of health care and education in developing countries.
